Orientation Coordinator
In my final year, I served as the Orientation Student Coordinator. This meant that I got to work directly beside my orientation mentor to plan next year's orientation. This included four summer orientation days (SOAR at Wartburg) along with two overnight stays, a full week of training the orientation leaders, and the four day orientation program. My special project was developing the training for my fellow orientation leaders. I also helped plan the training for a new mentoring program on campus that the college implemented. Being the Orientation Coordinator was one of the best jobs I've ever done, standing alongside and getting to see my team grow while they make a difference in underclassmen transition.
Orientation Leader
As an orientation leader for two years, I joined an incredible group of people to make Wartburg College a new home for first year students. I led not only groups of local students, but also a group of international students into their first semester through a four-day orientation program including a full day of carrying all of their things up into their dorm rooms for them, resources, and overall being a person there when they needed it.
